Getting there
If travelling via Weybridge, drive through the High Street and turn right at the mini roundabout past the church. Continue straight on at next mini roundabout and at the next roundabout after the dual carriageway continue straight over to Woburn Hill, soon arrive at a large roundabout and take the third exit, Chertsey Road, at traffic lights continue on to Fordwater Road, Mead Lane is then the 3rd turning right. The Walk Facing the River Thames, take a footpath from the far left hand comer of the Car Park. Soon turn right and head over the grass, cross two broad tracks and a roadway. Take a small footpath diagonally right to eventually reach and cross a bridge over the River Bourne.Tum left over a stile and follow the central row of power lines through fields towards 'mobile homes'. Here cross a stile and continue to another stile and bear left towards a fingerpost and turn left across the field with a pond to your left. Reach a gate-cum-stile leading through an area of scrubland to a lane by the entrance to Hamm Court Farm. Turn right and about 100 yds. on the left take a gravelled path through the trees to the River Wey towpath and turn left. Follow the towpath to Thames Lock and a National Trust exhibition and information centre. Turn right over the bridge and follow a concrete path signed to Thames Street. Turn right at the end of a row of garages and cross a bridge over a backwater to reach a small lane. Church Walk, and turn left. Keep ahead and cross a road follow the path opposite and emerge into Thames Street by the Old Crown pub. Turn left and soon reach the River Thames, continue on the towpath to soon reach the ferry. Cross to Shepperton and turn left along the bank past Shepperton Lock soon to reach Thames Court Hotel on your right. NB. The ferry to Shepperton runs every 15 mins. and costs £1.00 |
